"Time after Time' - New Years Eve

Post by ambercat on Tue Jan 01, 2008 12:09 pm

woohoo!!!!! Carl's very first gig after Oz Idol!!! At the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbor New Years Eve.... As someone said in the other thread...they saved the best till last!!! Carl was absolutely awesome and the trumpet made my knees turn to jelly... but that could also have been due to the few drinks that i'd had as well...but it was mainly Carl!!!! awesome performance with hopefully what might be his new band!!!!! Very Happy

That was a great performance last night ... our guy is pure class!

I watched it again this morning and my son came running out of the lounge room to watch too ... he sat on my lap and we sung the song to each other I love you ... that's one of the things I love about Carl's style of music - it's great for the whole family

Thanks for the video ambercat!

Whoa!! Thanks for uploading that video Amby! I was crushed I couldn't see it all last night. I was sooo tired but I powered on and still didn't get to see him after fighting family members for the telly! lol

Mmmm...sexy sure is a great word to describe Carl isn't it? And what a way to start the new year! He came out with a BANG!! He sure is made for this career, and I can't sit still after watching that video!

Congratulations on your first performance after Idol, Carl. You really are a star! Such a beautiful trumpet solo also. I haven't heard that song before, but it was such a great choice.
Look forward to your album!

Time afterTime
Time after time
I tell myself that i'm
So lucky to be loving you

So lucky to be
The one you long to see
In the evening, when the day is through

I only know what I know
The passing years may show
And Iv'e kept my love so young, so new

And Time after time
I tell myself that i'm
So lucky to be loved

Trumpet

Time after time
I tell myself that i'm
So lucky to be loving you

So lucky to be
The one you run to see
In the evening, when the day is through

I only know what I know
The passing years may show
You've kept my love so young, so new

And Time after time
I tell myself that i'm
So lucky to be loving you

And Time after time
I tell myself that i'm
So lucky to be loving you baby

I decided to put all the song lyrics under each video...in case you want to sing along. I've noticed that most of the Idol songs have been shortened, but I have posted the full lyrics. You'll figure it out! lol

How awesome was it, Carl being the first performer we saw in the New Year, great stuff and they did save the best for last. Yay I was so happy to see him up there on stage, great start to the New Year. I didn't go anywhere, because down here in Melbourne it was far too hot(sweltering in fact).

This also I think, solved another dilemma I had recently, I think this may be the same song I heard Rod Stewart singing on the radio recently, possibly from his American songbook cd's, I don't like RS much, but I knew the tune and was humming along to it, but had no idea of the song title, but I will have another listen, I am sure it is the same song- of course imo done so much better by Carl. I hate it when the radio announcers do not name songs or they do it after about four or five different ones.

Carl was awesome. Apart from the gorgeous voice, doesn't he have beautiful, artistic hands??
Thanks for the upload - and the chorus line of bananas! Makes me chuckle just looking at them!!

LOL!!
Loving that middle pic, in the trio there, too. Very delicious.
Wonder how Carr Management will promote Carl - saw that mention to the "King of Swing", in their letter; and thought it was all a bit Shane Warne...hehe.
Maybe we need to think of a cool title for Carl...

lol! Yeah...I see what you mean sensor!! We can't have people thinking that Carl has taken over the title from Shane and is spinning balls all over the cricket pitch!! hmmm....I'm not very good at this sort of stuff... We did come up with a name for his trumpet tho the other night.. McTrumpet! good hey!! lol!

Love McTrumpet!! Is that like McDreamy?? Yum!!
The king of spin could learn a few lessons from Carl in the moral fibre department, I'm thinking...sheesh I'm getting mean aren't I...
No, a nice title for Carl, like...um....ah.....
I'll get back to you when inspiration strikes!!!

Hi there Yvonne!
Scary isn't it, comparing our Carl to Mr. Warne...How do I know EXACTLY what you're thinking?? hehe
However, have been scratching my head trying to think of a v. cool title for our delicious Carl and can do no better than the "King of Swing" which has already become his tag.
Unless some great title falls out of the heavens, or runs along the ether - as Angeo says!! - I'm out of ideas as we speak!!
Why do the words 'trumpet' and 'horn', always have that connotation??? Oh my, naughty corner here I come!!

I just don't like Warne, ok his bowling speaks for itself, but other than that................. I am no fan.

so I don't like the link up.

However I have no other ideas myself.
