australian idol 2009

well the season of 2009 idol hasn't even started on air yet but the forums have already gone banan's over the sacking of kyle with a lot of people for him nd also a lot of people against him.

idol is gonna be very strange this year with the loss of john foreman, then james mathison and now kyle

i hope it doesn't die like the popular suggestions are saying over at the idol forums.

Producers are promising a group of really talented young singers, as we've seen in the teaser promos on TV, making the fight to the top even harder!

And in a surprise move, Idol Producers have allowed 2007 winner Natalie Gauci to reaudition for the 2009 show! A spokesperson for Channel 10, Noah Lovelost, stated that 'normally previous winners or top 12 contestants would not be eligible to audition, but considering Natalie's poor performance in the music industry since her 2007 win, she could hardly be categorised as a "winner"'.

Gauci's album "The Winners Journey" peaked at number 11 on the ARIA Albums Chart and sold only 11,489 copies in its first week, compared to Leith's 89,257 the previous year.

This year Idol co-host James Matheson has left after his appointment on Ten's new '7pm Project', and so the show will continue to be hosted by Take 40's own Andrew G alongside Ricki-Lee Coulter who returns for another season.

less then 2 and a half hours to go and i am really excited, last year i couldn't get into idol at all but this year i'm hoping to find another special idol like Carl.

ok so i quite liked some of the auditionees tonight the main three that shone for me were casey ( the loving dad ) , kate ( the dyke on the bike who's mother committed suicide) and the last guy i forget he's name but he was so nervous that he kept laughing they are my 3 pics for tonight

I liked the guy at the end, and was quite interested to see Kevin from Mercury 4 auditioning (and my he has changed since the Merc4 days). I was a closet Merc 4 fan, and it's interesting to see how he can still audition given he has previously had a major album contract, and released one album through Sony BMG I'm pretty sure it was.


Looking forward to Sydney Auditions - a girl called Hayley who is from Sydney, performs in a local band called Bleached Academy, and she's quite good, as far as I'm aware she is top 24 - she's defs top 100 at least.

I'll admit I got a little excited seeing Carl in the show intro.

I know who I like and I am hoping he makes it through to the Top 12 and that is Toby. Scott is probably the other one I have enjoyed, but I dislike rnb.

The girls are ok that have made it in so far, seems to be an ok line up to me from what I have seen so far.

I missed Idol on Sunday. But ditto about Sabrina. Although after what she's been through I'd hate to see her cut down - it might affect her confidence and send her emotionally on a downward slide again.

Toby is just so cute I could eat him up for breakfast! I don't think he'll last the distance though - he needs to loosen up a bit more.

That was a shock about Ashleigh, but I personally like Toby and Tim. Probably my favorite performance last night was Kim's one though. There are some that I am a little ho-hum about, probably because I had not been watching the auditions or the top 100 part of the show.

I totally missed the whole show on Sunday. I can't even remember who Ashleigh is - I need to put it on my record timer or at this rate I'll miss the whole series.

I missed nearly all of idol again on Sunday. There was no Harry Connick Jr anyway was there? I confess I was distracted by Hornblower on ABC2. It was gripping, suspenseful and Ewan Griffud was being hosed down naked on deck....

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't get Stan( I have no idea what it is) or the girls.

Personally my favorite is Toby, but you know who impressed me as well last night was young James.

The more I listen to young James the more I like him, but still my personal favorite is Toby. I was a bit sad to see Tim go, but when I saw him up there as one of the bottom 3, I knew it was he that was to be going home.

Toby just absolutely blew me away on Sunday night, they saved the best for last in my honest opinion. I had tears in my eyes. The young lads, James and Nathan did well also, but I prefer James to Nathan personally, but there is something there, I think with both of them. So my top performances were Toby, James and Nathan.

The girls, well I am not getting into them at all, sorry. Nor Stan, although I was not watching him on Sunday evening, I found out that Michael Buble was on Sixty Minutes and I was watching that, so I only missed Stan's performance. Sad to see Scott go though.

It may be just me, I don't know, but the girls this year do absolutely zilch for me, whereas the guys are stepping up, I think. Toby is still my personal fave, but young James and Nathan are still impressing me and I liked Stan better on Sunday night too.

I truly, truly hope Toby does not go next week, I am so worried now. Still loved what he did, simply cos he is Toby and he could sing anything to me and I would be happy, but the song choices were nqr (not quite right for him last night). I really liked James and Nathan on Sunday night. I am hoping for those three guys to be the top 3, but I don't think it will happen. Nathan is doing very, very well. He could possibly be the one to win it.

i am in 2 minds at the moment as what i heard live was completely different to what i heard on the re-play on dvd.

live i thought nathan was fantastic but listening back today he was pitchy as was stan, toby i'm sorry but he put me to sleep as did stan.

IMO bottom 3 will be toby, stan and james ( although hopefully james is safe) out of the other 2 couldn't give 2 hoots who leaves to be honest bring on the double eviction for them i say

clear final will be nathan and hayley and hayley will take it out hands down.

I am actually really warming to Nathan.

I love the whole musical theatre vibe he has happening.
