The Japanese know nothing about Italy but they created an Italian sounding plumber. So I think you did pretty good at faking it.
And yeah at least Carl shows up here. That's nice of him. And he does hang around after his shows for a little chat. We shouldn't complain. There are other singers who can't wait to get back to the hotel after a show. 5 mins after the show is over, they're in a car in the way back. While their crew is left with all the mack up work.

Do you mean Michel laFosse - or Michael ......Stuart, as he called himself?
Arthur, Galahad, the fisher kings - that spooky fish-sign - Parzival, through to Robert 11, Arimethia - Scottish; and Christ - English; onto Queen Elizabeth, ( she of the Masons), then to Charles and Diana - she being descended from the Stewart kings!!
Maybe not Italian heritage angeo, but Scottish??
And I'm writing on the 9th page!!
"Fasta fora da pasta, masta"
What a catchy title for a pasta-machine!!
Marco Polo eh? Was he a Knight Templar too??
Some smart-alec on the AI board, commented that Teale or Spano had the V on his head in honour of the sacred feminine!!

That's really true, 8thark.
Those who've been to Carl's concerts say he's extremely obliging, with photos and sigs and just talking to his fans. He's a decent bloke is Carl and I'd expect nothing less!!
I think with some artists, we keep enjoying them, in spite of their attitude and not because of it. I know I'm over a few, who talk about saving the world, but can't even treat their own families/fans with any respect.
The little things speak much louder than the big ones...

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
yes Sensor it probably was that person. This was all stirred up again with Brown's book of course.
And I was born in Edinburgh Sensor, haven't I mentioned that
It's true though. And wow! I have to mention Google earth because I found my old house in Edinburgh and where I went to school! I showed it to my kids. Then I tried to get on top of Mt Everest and onto the Great Wall of China but I wasn't able to get close enough there. Machu Picchu, the pyramids of Egypt and the Taj Mahal are next (probably overstretching the download credits though). It's fun being an armchair traveller. What's freaky though was when I looked at my own home! A camera photo actually took me right down to street level and I could do a 360 degree view of my street at the front of my house. And because my house has side and front lanes I could look at it from all sides! Amazing, weird and scary all at the same time!
Yes we are so, so lucky that Carl finds the time to come on for a chat. I'm not complaining.
Ha ha, I like your Mario ref there 8th Ark. Funny you should mention Japanese though because I have a percentage of that in my Scottish/Canadian/Heinz 59 varieties make-up too!

It must've been strange looking at your old house, a world away...
I love Edinburgh. It's where I first saw driving, covering snow. The roads were lined with it and all the street-lights were shining; and the castle looked like this massive, rising-from-the-depths-of-the-earth monster, all ancient stone topped with white.
One of the most magical days of my life...
And then we saw the Tattoo at E. Castle - unforgettable.
What wonderful origins you have angeo...

oh gosh...you are a "high breed" as well Ange? I am 'composed'
of different/variety of racial percentages as well (lol)
....from chinese to american to swiss to german and to filipino and speak 3 dialects (fluently) and 4 languages of which 2 fluently and 2 fairly. My dad spoke different dialect, my mum speak different dialect and when they got married they moved to a place where people speak differently from them and we kids grew up in that place where we learn the dialect so we kids speak differently from our parents but we all understand and speak each others languages (get it?) then i married my husband who spoke different language as well so i have to learn his language, then i had to study two more languages when i was at uni so that's the story. (hehehe)

Oh boy....You're a dynamo Monet. You even have the edge over me with my first language English (which as it happens - is my only language and it's Aussie-English with a tinge of Scot's accent). I mean all the hip cool expressions you come out with - that must come from having a teenager in the house
When I spoke in a broad Scottish brogue when I first came to Australia, the disparity of my appearance to my accent totally threw people so they'd give up trying to understand me. I was this incongruous unintelligible little oddity. So I cultivated the Aussie-English and promptly lost my Scottie-ness. Which is a shame.

Yes, from having a teen-ager in the house, watching too much american made movies (esp. Simpsons hehehe), educated by Americans both primary and high school and college (uni was here though) and spent 5 years with teen-agers from different walks of life as a high school teacher in three different countries, i had the privileged to taught students who came from different countries such as Poland, Canada, USA, Taiwan, Philippines, Denmark, Japan, Mexico, even Palau and our very own Aborigines from Luurnpa, Balgo Hills Western Australia....but that was all 8 years ago.....i do a different calling now

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
Some very weird people around, yesterday in the other program thingy I participate in, at a Tafe college, one of the guys yelled at one of the others over reading his newspaper. Now this guy that was looking at this other ones newspaper, is a totally nice person who wouldn't harm a fly or say anything bad about anyone, and anyway this other dude was nowhere around for him to ask if he could look at it. Wow he got told off a beauty by the manager there. He isn't going to gain any friends that is for sure, we can tell he doesn't want to be there.
I just do not get why on earth you would fly into a rage over someone reading your newspaper. He is a bit scary and quite sullen looking, this new participant. I am thinking, I shall stay well away from him. He sits in the corner and says nothing to noone except to yell at this other guy ( I am not mentioning anyones names here).
thankgod everyone else at the other voluntary thing I am doing is lovely ( like my very good friend down there). This is so bizarre, but he saw me the other day, when I was heading to this other place, that I go on Mon and Tues, and tooted me on his horn, he stopped, I had just come out of a cafe armed with my morning cappucino ( I am quite a coffee addict), and he said hello to me, and I laughingly said to him are you trying to stalk me. I am not supposed to see you until Thurs and Fri. He had a pick up to do in the area, that is why he was around the same area I was- near the Tafe college. Hehe he made me a few mins late for where I was supposed to be.

I just need to add that I normally do not say anything bad about anyone myself, but yeah I am not gonna sit anywhere near him ever, his attitude is pretty bad and scary.
Like I said the other guy is totally nice, I get on fine with him and he wouldn't harm a fly and he would have asked him, if he had been around, if he could read his newspaper, but he wasn't. Poor guy was really startled by him going off at him, for what seems to be no real reason, he wasn't gonna nick his paper and take it home.

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
hi all,
well i just got back from a reiki healing session and am amazed at their power.
1) they felt alot of pain and trauma coming from my neck and left shoulder (currently im on compo for my neck and left shoulder)
2) they also felt that metaphorically the lower part of my heart is missing and a male is the cause. ( i asked if it could have been the passing of my father and they said no this person is still with you. ( this could be chris as although i love him to death being that i havn't had a kid which is what i want more than anything i am not truely happy and that part of my heart is missing.)
3) they felt a suffocating feeling in my throat chakra like i was gasping for breath or trying to say something but not getting heard. ( i have a thyroid problem which is throat related but also as far as work is i have been talking for years about the problems and keep getting shut down so now i hold a lot of it in.)
4) they picked up darkness around my head and asked if i get a lot of headaches. ( i get headache quite regularly ad when i do they are migrains.)
5) finally they said that they got a message from someone who has passed and they said don't be afraid to tell your secret. (this is the one thing i don't know what they are talking about as i havn't got any secrets from anyone so i'll have to think about where they were going with that one.
all in all i have to recomend having a reiki healing session as i was so relaxed and felt fantastic afterwards. very refreshing i'll definately be going again.

Wow Yvonne....that guy sounds like he has some problems!!! i dont blame you for not wanting to have anything to do with him... If he can spring into a rage just over a newspaper what else could he get angry over?!!
Amanda...I've never heard of reiki healing...sounds interesting though... Do they lay their hands on your body or something to pick up on problems? Is it just one person doing a type of reading? Sounds like they were fairly spot on as well...

Ooh Yvonne, that bloke sounds a bit looney-toons. Best to keep well away... but ya know, I'm amazed at how precious some ppl get; and then think they're cool by demanding "their rights." And we're so damn territorial about our "things".
Sometimes it's nice just to be kind...
Your guy still sounds cool!!
a-r, reiki healing. Haven't heard of it, but it sounds as though you took something positive away from it.
Is it a regular session, or a one-off treatment?

I've heard of Reiki healing, a bit similar to pranic healing, there's nothing wrong about seeking healing thru these, like an alternative medicine (accupuncture, accupressure etc,) if it can help you go for it...i'm glad you feel good afterwards a-r

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
yeah basically i laid on a table type bed and they put the healing blanket over me. there was 2 of them 1 concentrated on feet and legs and one concentrated on back, neck, head , arms etc.
first they checked my chakra's which is like your auras key areas with a pedulum lo see if they were balanced. (thats where they picked up on the throat imbalance)
then they woffted burning sage smoke over me with a feather as that is supposably a calming herb. it smelt quite nice.
then one of them started by placeing their hands above the different areas in my body and every now and then they would grab an area they were drawn to as having a message, story or pain (this is were she kept grabbing for my left shoulder and neck)
during this the other person was giving a slight foot massage as well as playing healing drums, gongs, rattles and staffs kinda like that monkey that's in the lion king.
finally they use the pedulum again to see if the charkra's have been alined and leveled ( mine hadn't been they were better but still uneven)
then they sat me up and explained everything they felt and got from the different area's it was really quite calming and relaxing.
also i had a friend with me who also was having a session ( she bought my session for me for my birthday she's big into angels, spirits etc) so i got to watch what they done.
like i said i will go again one day for sure.

of what i know in pranic healing....the healer have so much energy in her/him to heal or find the persons' pains/aches, i saw a session once when the healer placed her hand on the womans' throat not really touching but few cm above the throat and the woman started gasping for breath and the healer said that she has a goiter problem and that she can help ease the pain temporarily but still advised the lady to seek medical help as it may be cancerous already, she also placed her hands on top (not touching) of a man's hand who was caught by a machine at work and had long stitches (the man been to the hospital already but he just wants the pain to go away after the anesthesia wore out) and believe it or not we all saw a slight of light that came out from the healers' hand straight to the wounded hand of the man....we all asked her afterwards about that light and she said she didn't notice it but it was probably the energy from her because after she did the session she was very very exhausted....after a week i heard that the man's hand healed perfectly that not a slightest scar is visible when usually deep cuts like that will surely leave a mark but nope there's none......

Monetgo - I know! I can't wait!
I saw it when it first showed in Melbourne all those years ago. I bought the soundtrack when the film came out and my little boy loved it so much I eventually let him watch the movie - although I still fast forward through the scenes I don't think are appropriate for his age. When the ad first came on TV for the Perth shows he looked up at me with longing in his eyes - I said "yes, I know you want to go .... and I've already bought our tickets - you have a day off school on February 18"
. It's going to be a great thing for us to share

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
I told my friend about the guy at the other project and the newspaper incident ( I just talk to him about anything most of the time), I was just mentioning how sad this guy must be to be doing that and that he was alienating people in the process. He was pretty shocked that someone would be like that just over a newspaper- I just cannot for the life of me imagine him doing anything like that ever, he is so laid back- he stirs me, I stir him back and we get on really well, well he keeps on coming back for more.
You know he wolf-whistled me from his truck the other day. I just went next door to the cafe for my long awaited take away capp in the afternoon. Now how come I missed my morning one, oh yes that is right, all the public transport I catch, connected ( that is amazing in itself), but in the process some of the journey became like a carpark leading up to the West Gate bridge area, so I just made it on the dot of nine, also because of the slow changing traffic lights.
I wasn't there yesterday as I had a family funeral to attend, I told him I was not going to be in and that I wouldn't be seeing him again till next Thurs, he looked disappointed- it was one of my cousins.

I love reading about your budding work romance Yvonne. Do you realise you are keeping us in suspense with the romantic tension between you two!! Like Scully and Mulder or Max and Logan (Dark Angel) or Buffy and Angel...
I've had a dose of the nasties at work lately. I usually don't take a lunch break but on Friday arranged to lunch with a couple of people. Well all either of them did from start to finish was bag someone else in the school. Criticising someone's work standards is one thing but they were making very personal remarks, talking about this person complaining about not being left anything their late brother's will. Stuff I really did not want to know. It got too much for me and after several attempts to politely change the subject I eventually put my foot down that I didn't want to hear another word bad or good about the person. I added that they were spoiling their own lunch by virtually bringing the person to lunch with us! Things got a bit tetchy after that. However, I'm sticking to my guns and if they want my company for lunch again they'll have to leave the other person in their office and promise to not mention them once or I'm walking out. I can do without that kind of energy-wasting bitching that's for sure.

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
I went to my cousins funeral last week, a very popular and lovely man he was, and a person who packed so many things that he had wanted to do and achieve into his life- the crowd was spilling outside the chapel. Lots of lovely tributes from his family members and friends, he was the kind of person that even if you didn't see him or speak to him on the phone for ages, it didn't matter, it would still be like you had seen him just yesterday, you would just pick up where you left off. Still a relatively young man at 67, he is now at peace, he had a brain tumour, which he battled for quite a few years. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
It is getting a bit frustrating,as he gives me so many signals and says things to me, to make me know that he likes me, and I am thinking maybe he is waiting until I officially finish my time there which is close to Christmas, but it could be earlier, should I find a paid position, or I could stay there longer after that time, but not in an official type capacity, until I do find a paid position.
I cannot imagine ever fighting with him, he is so laid back and easy going, but I guess it could happen and I do have to work with him- this is just a scenario I am throwing up.
I have practically gotten on well with him since day one there, or the first time I met him, but it has only been more and more lately that he has paid me lots of attention.
You know I do know him or have seen him from somewhere else previously, but I cannot put my finger on where from, so I have never really mentioned that to him, could have been out shopping, he doesn't live really close by to me, but I shop in all kinds of places around Melbourne, so it is possible, plus I think he kind of has a familiar looking face.

You know he has always been a gentleman towards me, in amongst all the stirring, and everytime he throws a compliment my way, I say thankyou. I am sure he knows that I like him too, I never ever tell him to go away or ignore him or anything like that. He did tell me he does it because he really likes me.

Yvonne I have a cunning plan. Have you ever heard of 'Free Hug Coupons'? Well it was one of those little paper scraps that got me my man (unintentionally I might add)
Get on the computer, do some graphic design work on creating some little coupons with cute little
characters with wording like "Congratulations you are the 10,000 person to enter this office and you have won a free hug". Print them on some colour stock and have a pile of them on your desk in your office. When he walks in get a co-conspirator to announce he's a lucky winner of a hug! I swear you can give him the most harmless little platonic hug or a full on bear hug it's your choice but once that physical contact is made - guys are goners. That hug will play on his mind all day. He'll toss and turn in his bed. In the morning he'll be champing at the bit to get to work to see you. He'll be turning up to see you with any excuse. Your part will be to smile, encourage and mention that coffee shop you've been meaning to check out....sometime after work.

Just a thought. girls...
Yvonne...why don't you ask him out?
This is the 21st century after all. Girls can do that kind of thing nowadays.
Perhaps keep it simple and ask him to join you for lunch, or even a coffee after work.
What's the worst that could happen?
Like I said, just a thought.
Good luck!

Oh he gives me hugs in front of the others there, puts his arm round me a lot and the best thing of all, he gives me shoulder massages. When I told him recently that I was originally from the other side of town, but have been here forever, he said he was glad I was living on this side now or he would never have met me, this was in front of the boss too. He displays his affections quite openly.
I have often heard the boss telling him, that he needs to find someone to settle down with, usually within earshot of me. Perhaps he is also trying to do a bit of matchmaking for us, but don't for one second think that I am not working on it too, because I am.
I actually did overhear a bit of a convo going on recently, I was just coming out of the kitchen as he was just going in, with a glass of water and I had been talking to him. Anyway I put the glass down on the bench and went round to the side room adjacent to the kitchen, to check if the dishwasher was finished, for me to begin unloading- and whilst I was passing by, I heard the words lovely girl being mentioned- all the guys that are in on Fridays were in the kitchen at this time and I then heard one of the older guys say yes she is a top girl, I didn't hear anymore or else I would have certainly been caught out eavesdropping.
