Good Morning. :)
I just had some Vegemite Toast for breakfast. Raining here today, hopefully it doesn't pour too much on my way to work today... I better take my umbrella because I have to go buy my lunch today. :)
Hope everyone has a good day!

What a great idea for a thread - page two and it's only been going 4 day's! Good one Treegirl!
I am sitting at my computer, (the 2nd love of my life after my dog!), in front of the heater, (cause it was only 10 degrees when I got up at 8.15am(It's a hard life) reading up on all the posts from last night and thoroughly enjoying every minute of it, as I do everyday! And all this talk of domestication (cooking) is making me hungry! So food is on the agenda next!

Hi goldie!!
I'm sitting at home on the computer too - a lovely indulgence. And I'm listening to Carl's album once again...
The more I hear, the more I love!!
GFI and SO are both so cool. He could have sung them really ott, but he's used such gentle restraint. I'm really impressed!!
Enjoy your day goldie and your food. :)

Good Morning.
I love this thread, I think it's a good idea. It's always good to be able to be able to come to a thread and talk about anything!
It was my Birthday on Friday, I had a good day. :) Ben got me a new watch. His Mum and Dad got me a towel with my name on it - so pretty. Mum and Dad got me a gas bottle for my BBQ a couple of months ago, but the best present of all! Ben, Ally, Paul, Andrea, Hayden and Tammy all put money in and got me the Will and Grace Boxset... I have every freakin' episode!!
Yay!!!!

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
Here's an e-mail i just received...how interesting is that! You can believe it or not....
You are what you eat, so eat well. A stupendous insight of civilizations past has now been confirmed by today's investigative, nutritional sciences. They have shown that what was once called 'The Doctrineof Signatures' was astoundingly correct. It now contends that every whole food has a pattern that resembles a body organ or physiological function and that this pattern acts as a signal or sign as to the benefit the food provides the eater. Here is just a short list of examples of Whole Food Signatures.
A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye...and science shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes
A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.
A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Eggplant, Avocadoes and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? .... It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the motility of male sperm and increase the numbersof sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.
Grapefruits, Oranges , andother citrusfruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.
Onions look like body cells. Today's research shows that onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes.

Well that's interesting hey monetgo!!!! I'll be checking out my fruit and veg next time I eat something to see what it resembles!!! And yeah...I'm on my own here just about every night...that is unless the night owl Angeo is hanging around...we sometimes bump into each other...but like you said, it doesnt matter as long as we're all still coming back!! I had thought of asking RCM if we could somehow try to manage a live chat with Carl and set up a time....might be a bit hard now that he's so busy, but its worth a try!! I'll have to ask and see what they say!!

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
Yes here I am Amby, late as ever! I'm on so late all the latest posts by you East-coasters come up as 'posted yesterday!' If you do set up a chat with Honeyman make sure it's about 1 am EST so that he accommodates my owlish hours
I rarely get on during the day but I think it was a weekend afternoon a few months back when I found Kris and A-R and we had a very hilarious but difficult chat with broken space-bars, coffee-damaged computers and laptop batteries running down.
And Alty where have you been? You missed my post about finally getting to use Altair to copy a recording off my Topfield. It was rather surreal. Imagine my bewilderment when the 'how to' website I used told me to copy the recording with Altair! 'How do they know Altair?' I thought 'how do they know I know Altair?' Then it dawned on me 'Of course, Altair is a computer programme' *chuckle* 'Hold the train!! I've been chatting on the forum to a computer programme?' my mind started to spin, realisation swamped my brain as my mind reeled through comparisons . . . Hal the computer in 2001 a Space Odyssey 'I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that', AI and the little robot-boy with his Pinocchio dream to be real, the beautiful replicant in Blade-runner with the false memories, I-Robot, Bicentennial Man, that terrible moment depicted in Terminator III when Skynet became self-aware and the world was changed forever!! Could it be that Altair is a self-aware Artificial Intelligence that aspires to be human? But then I remembered I'll be seeing you at Friends restaurant next month.*sigh of relief*
But will I?
Who was it that told us about Friend's restaurant in the first place? Why is it that RCM have not yet advertised this gig? Could Altair have infiltrated and altered the bocs ticketing and Friends restaurant sites? Is the Friend's restaurant gig all a complete fabrication, intricately devised by AI-Altair so that we think a meeting with human-Altair is imminent? Then at the eleventh hour, the gig will be cancelled no doubt due to 'restaurant closure' (really - what restaurant closes for 4 weeks!) and lack of publicity. And no wonder Altair sat alone awaiting the Aria ratings to be posted, it's because she infiltrated that site as well and fixed the results to put Carl at #5! Well Artificial Intelligence Altair, you have been sprung. Admit that you are a self-aware computer programme with a completely fabricated life who uses the internet and forums as a way of communicating with us real humans! Go on admit it now!!
Oh and Treegirl, happy birthday for 2 weeks ago!! Have fun watching all those W&G episodes.
And thanks for the nutritional info Monetgo. I'd best lay off the walnuts so that I can curb those neuro transmitters that get my brain working overtime. :bom:

LOL Angeo that's the funniest post!
I saw Altair at the Melbourne Museum when I was there
I remember in the first weeks of idol last yr someone on the forum asked me about my nic and whether it was for the computer Altair - I told him it wasn't and I would have picked Ada over Altair anyway - I'm a software kind of gal!
... he never got back to me on that one
Sorry I haven't been around ... I've been indulging another passion of mine and have gotten a bit side-tracked with it

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
Okay back to normal chit chat.
Today one of my daughters was in a play which was performed at assembly today. The play was about the Herdsman Lake bird-life and ecosystem. Amongst swans, elegant egrets, musk ducks and sacred ibis, my daughter was the pond weed. She was a most eloquent and accomplished pond weed I'm proud to say and such a charming shade of green.
I sneaked off before assembly finished to head off for Harbour Town (which is like DFO in Sydney only better) for some serious shopping. Got a couple of tops (actually they could both be short dresses) and some brown shoes with thick tapering heels and wide buckled straps.
Shopping! Retail therapy! Fun!

Re: Chit Chat Thread #1
I had a great time at Rottnest ... but the trip over on the boat was H E L L. It was so rough. I burst into tears the moment we smashed through the first wave and didn't stop crying until we got to the island - half the trip was spent airborne, the other half being swamped by waves
. My son thought it was the coolest thing he has ever done ... kids, can't take 'em anywhere
.
By Sunday afternoon the weather had cleared so my husband and I decided to grab our rods, and a couple of stubbies, and do a spot of fishing on the Geordie Bay jetty. I had the best time. My new fishing rod was a beauty - all my casts were perfect ... oh, except for the one that hooked the bloke fishing behind me
. I love fishing for Herring because they make a beautiful flash in the water as you reel them in and they're yummy to eat ... caught, cleaned and cooked in less than 2 hrs.
Thankfully, the good weather continued into Monday and we had a smooth journey home on the boat. I've done six loads of washing today ... only one more to go!

I was scared ... I thought we were going to die
It was funny though. Every where you went on the island ppl were talking about what day they came over and most ppl seemed slightly scarred by the experience (except for my son
). Heaps of ppl were puking too so by the end the smell was unbearable - just to add to our misery. Apparently the day before was just as bad, if not worse, they even had to put one passenger on the ambulance
. I love Rottnest but I think that might have been my last trip there
It was embarrassing hooking that guy behind me - I'm just glad I hooked his shirt and not his eye

Is the boat over to Rottnest a ferry or a smaller vessel?
Sounds terrifying...
And as for peeps throwing up, well I bet your son was impressed!!
Don't let Carl know, but I'm not a boat person at all!
There - I've confessed!
The dinghy HMAS Carlishawt is about the only boat you'd get me onto, and then there's only one reason...;)

I'm sick

cough and cold, i was barking the whole morning, hope will be fine before the 4th, glad i'm not singing (he he he) but Carl is, hope he doesn't get this awful bug going on, hate it, after 3 consecutive nights at Bennett's hope he still have the strenght for Troubadour (a travelling poet and singer who wrote chiefly on courtly love).
