Um
Music - I play guitar, bass, piano and clarinet. I'm not spectacularly good at any of them, but I try. I also sing, I'm not that great but have been told I can carry a tune. I just do it cos I enjoy it, especially when driving.

Driving - But only when I have nowhere particular to go (ie work), I love driving around with friends, the windows down, music blaring and singing along.

Reading - I don't read much but I love to do it.

Gigging - I love going to gigs, nothing beats it.

Sleeping - yes. I hibernate like a bear sometimes hahaha

music, AFL- go the Doggies, tennis, not a real big movie buff, but I want to see "The Heartbreak Kid" soon. Love reality shows, but not all, just Idol, DWTS, The Amazing Race and It Takes Two. I cannot stand BB. I watch lots of sport on tv, not so much cricket though, not unless Ricky Ponting or Gilly are batting, tennis I will watch all day, same with AFL, a little bit of NRL- go the Storm boys.

I am a boring person come to think of it! lol

Okay let's see, I love music, reading (although I don't do a lot of it anymore), love going for long drives (good way to clear my head!), the beach, love a bit of art (this is my favourite thing to do with the little one at work, knitting and crochet), you will always see me at the movies! I just love it, although it doesn't seem right to go without that popcorn and coke! lol I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my 5 year old nephew. I like to play a few computer games, love theme parks, swimming, going for long walks and coming on these forums!
Whoa am I rambling?! ;)

could not live without my sport - love getting out there whether its netball, soccer, tennis or softball (all sports which i have played), i also love going for runs at night time, there's nothing like running alongside the road when there's heaps of traffic with their headlights on, it motivates you SOOO much.. seriously i recommend trying it =]
i'm a huge dragons supporter (NRL).. and also watch english football (soccer) whenever i can.. go the mighty reds (liverpool).. love going to live games as well, nothing beats the atmosphere of a socceroos game =]
also love music, whether its listening to it or playing it (i play piano, and used to play trumpet.. can also play a bit of guitar but i'm not that good haha)- live gigs are awesome too.. can't wait until i'm 18 so i can go to over 18's places to see some of the great upcoming aussie bands.
yeah that pretty much sums me up... also love my family and friends, just hanging out like a normal teenaged girls =]
oh and did i mention my new found obsession, a little someone we know as CARL RISELEY =]

Hey Amanda...we have got to get together sometime!!!!! I love pub sports, although have never played pool professionally, I just love it! Have a freind with a pool table and have just come from a couple of hours of playing...were fairly well matched which makes it really competitive! Great fun!
I also love music, shopping, drinking, playing cards, quilting, gardening/landscaping, computer games, live shows, animals (my dog and a pond full of fish, with babies!) driving, reading (thrillers/murders etc) and photography! (I enter shows and have won with quite a few of my pics)

Hi there monetgo!!
Can see you and I have some common interests. Love all that travelling, but you beat me in the have-seen stakes!
Saw Patrick Swayze in Guys and Dolls at Piccadilly Theatre in 06 - but was so tired from the running around I'd been doing, I fell asleep in the middle of it!! True! I'd already just missed the Euan McGregor version - *#@!! - so I was doubly miffed!!
Love: Museums, Theatres; Concert Halls; art history; interesting/quirky peeps; books; movies; nature; daydreaming; chocolate; sport - cricket, RU, tennis, equestrian, ice skating - has there ever been a better champion than Alexei Yagudin?? hot stuff, that one - and water sports such as surfing and Iron Man. I don't participate in the last one, but I do enjoy watching, if you catch my drift, hehe...

I don't want to blunder where angels fear to tread, but if I were Mary Pauline, I'd be glad I had a Mum like you. Your life is precious too...

Hey cmcrae! Interesting thread you've reopened here. I hate it though because when I try to think of hobbies, alas, alack, I have none. So I try to think of things I've accomplished and, well - coming up big blanks here.

At four I wanted to be a ballerina. Mum told me I was too tubby. I screamed and ranted 'you've ruined my career!'. Just recently I found out she'd had dancing lessons as a child! Where's the justice in that?

I was desperate to learn piano. At age six I had a little toy baby-grand and I would plonk out tunes I heard on the radio on it. Bugged my parents endlessly. They plonked my uncle's piano accordian that I could barely reach around on my lap and packed me off for lessons. The double-torture was that it strained my little fingers and I could hear other kids learning piano at the same school. After several lessons I refused to go back.

Aged eight a teacher at primary school whom I idolised started a lunch-time art session for interested kids. I painted Stonehenge from a postcard and she was very impressed. The classes were cancelled after only a couple of sessions though. Don't remember the reason now. No special programmes for budding artistic geniuses at that school!

At nine I wanted to join the Girls' Brigade. 'No'. Was the response. No reason given. But I was dragged along to watch my parents' friends' kids perform in Johnny Young's talent school concerts.

Since I could read I had collected Ladybird Books classic fairytales. All beautifully illustrated, all out of print now. My uncle had made me a lovely wooden bookstand for them. When I was ten mum gave them away, with treasured bookstand, to one of those Johnny Young Talent school kids.

At age eleven, I was so bored that I joined a Sunday School. It was free and I mostly walked so no objections there. It was mostly excruciatingly boring but one weekend the small group of us that used to meet at this bible tutor's house were invited to stay over at a country farm. There I got to shear a sheep, ride a motorcycle all on my own, swim in a waterhole and eat damper. Those were the highlights. The low points were praying, hymns and having to eat charcoaled burnt steaks that were raw and bloody inside.

Also at eleven I attempted to write a kids horror story adventure. I only wrote two chapters.

At high school I avoided sports and Phys Ed by wagging (truanting). I avoided a succession of boring teachers over the years by wagging. And I avoided evil school bullies by wagging. In fact my main hobby was wagging. I had turned it into an artform. I had various locations where I could hide my school bag for the day and then explore Perth or Fremantle on the train. My forged absence notes went undetected because when I was really sick my Mum got me to write my own anyway!

Hey - at last I found something I was highly successful at - skipping school

Oh I almost forgot. When I was a teenager, still bored and deprived of activities and spending a lot of time in my room with friends listening to music and giggling, occasionally my bedroom door would open briefly and my mum's hand would appear, tossing in several books (and if we were lucky - some mars bars). These were usually trashy romance novels. Mills & Boons were her favourites. A reading frenzy would ensue with my friend(s) and I awake through to the wee hours having a reading marathon. It was in those formative years I developed my skill for writing for the romantic, heaving breasts and rippling muscle passages that I occasionally like to post. I honestly probably haven't read any since age 18. It's just the style is so ingrained in my psyche now!

Using the glass-is-half-full theory, your hobbies then, are ballet, piano, piano accordian, art and painting, books and reading/munching in bed, reality shows, religion, swimming, motorbikes, WRITING, investigative journalism (wagging), general music appreciation and M&B.

You have had an amazingly rounded education, Ms. Angeo!! Very impressive!! I love you

However, I'm more interested in the future publication of a book or collection of short stories. Perhaps you could use an internet forum as the setting for your first endeavour- or perhaps not, come to think of it!! hehe

No matter, you're just going to have to get busy, because I will not be deprived of the pleasure of my Angeo magic!!

Just updating your insightfully compiled list of my hobbies Sensor, to bring them into present day context. Let's see now I'll just quote you here, cross out the misses, bold the hits and make comments in italics:

sensor wrote:Using the glass-is-half-full theory, your hobbies then, are ballet too tubby remember?, piano yes vicariously through my kids' lessons, piano accordian I'm not into polka music, art and painting will take this up again one day, books and reading will attempt anything even dearest's books on maths but draw the line at Advanced C++ Programming/munching in bed, reality shows except OzIdol, religion and atheism, swimming, snorkelling & scuba diving (but not for years), motorbikes crashing and falling off them, WRITING see note below, investigative journalism (wagging) my forged notes don't cut it no more, general Carl Riseley music appreciation I'm only into Carl music at the moment and M&B see note below.

However, I'm more interested in the future publication of a book or collection of short stories. Perhaps you could use an internet forum as the setting for your first endeavour- or perhaps not, come to think of it!! hehe

NOTE on writing: Rather than using an internet forum as a setting, you could say I used it as a medium. I wrote a story (unfinished) as requested in another thread by the moderators (specifically A-R) she even gave me the precis of a 'Blair Witch Type Setting'! I put it in my MySpace blog as it's too long for the forum board. Have a read for a laugh. I think the URL I requested doesn't work yet but anyway it's supposed to be http://www.myspace.com/angeo2.
NOTE on M&B: Heaving breasts and rippling muscles abound in above-mentioned story. Very M&B! Hehe.

Tried to access the link but it refused to pop up; so your story remains unread!!

Even with all my mistakes re. your hobbies, your misspent youth Razz Razz had a wonderful effect on your education... You can now join the many famous, genius people who were mind-numbingly bored with school!!

Don't know why we associate heaving breasts and rippling muscles with M&B in particular. Warning: intimate body-parts being discussed now.

Have read The English Patient and there's the most beautiful, elegant description of the English patient's body, as seen by his nurse, while he lies almost comatose in bed; and this description includes his penis. Seriously, it's simply magnificent writing...

So go for your life, because the precedent has been set!!Razz Razz

Oh yes the English Patient. And while Mills and Boon and the other romance novel publishers provided escapism for the deprived (probably desperate) housewives it also filled a need for romantic love. By escaping vicariously into the heroine's life for a couple of hours it created the illusion that it actually existed (romantic love). I'm not saying that it doesn't exist. It has been around and written about for, I guess thousands of years. Solomon's song of songs is a beautiful example of romantic prose. But it remains elusive to a lot of people in the stark reality of life.

Oh and I've tried the link and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've emailed the MySpace help but in the stark reality of life (and cyberlife) help remains elusive.

The Song of Solomon -
I've been to a couple of weddings recently where that passage -(paraphrasing) whither thou goest I will go and where thou liest I will lie; thy people shall be my people and thy God my God - has been used as a reading. I love you

Very beautiful, simple writing - and the rest of it is quite explicit, for the Bible!

I guess we all have our little fantasies about being carried away by the handsome prince - but my days of kissing frogs and dropping glass slippers are definitely over!! Razz

However,I love romance novels, whether they're trashy or up-market!! I love you

Actually, have just thought - that Bible verse is from Ruth!! Shows my complete ineptitude when it comes to all matters religious!
But S of S is still certainly physically descriptive!!
