Unreal! I was checking out The Basement page on MySpace Music and had the fleeting thought that there should be a MySpace Music site for Carl. Et voila, the collective unconscious has been hard at work!

Now I must concentrate on Carl performing at The Basement on 29th May to get the notion floating out into the ether, transmitting little molecules of thought out to Ralph Carr, slowly and insidiously penetrating his subconscious, so that he'll think he had the idea himself!!

Mwa ha ha ha ha. Diabolical and ingenious!! :twisted:

I'm not exactly a diabolical genius when it comes to MySpace though. Don't know how to add friends or be added, or even why one does it? Someone needs to sit me down, take my hand and patiently explain the whole concept to me.

I would add a few molecules myself, but I'm pretty confident RC will bring our guy to Perth one day soon ... Kate Ceberano and Vanessa A are making their way over here so that gives me hope!

Vanessa was doing a song on the new promo for the AFL season, saw it last night during the tennis coverage. Which also reminds me, I have to check out exactly when her album is out, I do want to get it.


Which is a good thing, it makes you see that Ralph gets his people out there and Kate of course will be on this next season of It Takes Two, that begins very soon, no idea who she will be mentoring.

You're not alone there Angeo! And unfortunately I won't be the one who'll be able to explain things to you! I am often tempted to sit down one day (when I can wrestle Kathy off the computer!) and try to work it all out, but I end up blankly staring at the screen and clicking on the wrong things and ending up God knows where! I have the benefit of having a daughter who has a very nice Myspace page and she keeps me up to date with all things Carl related thankfully, including Carls very impressive new site! I really must make an effort one day though! I have a few overseas friends who have pages and it would be nice to be able to chat with them on here and share photos etc. rather than just boring emails. Ah well - this is another one of those "one of these days" projects! I have to admit that Kathy has offered to help me - but my fault - never available when she suggests it - like I said - one of these days! ;)

And when our honey man comes to Perth you'll see me throwing small children and elderly ladies aside to be first in line! But it's just I have a short time in Sydney (abandoning my kids to the dubious ministrations of my mere male dear-heart) to spend time with my best mate for a kind of reprisal of when we holidayed there as carefree 20 year olds, and the Basement was one of our haunts. We'd also seen a show at the Entertainment Centre so I've got that one covered with Buble. We intend having one hell of a good time and know we won't be able to revisit everything, but if I don't catch Carl performing in his hometown it will all amount to NOTHING!! So you see given my time constraints and obsessive compulsive nature, Carl + Basement = ideal 4 me!

So now that I have totally wandered off the thread I shall brilliantly segue back by thanking Altair for considering adding her thought molecules to the ether but suggesting it may be more effective if she and all you MySpace proficient people drop a hint on my behalf on his MySpace site. Thanks Ambercatsmum. Good luck to you both with getting a turn on the computer in the first place and navigating MySpace! Actually my friends from Uni days are on at me to get on Facebook "to keep in touch with people from our year" but the thought of some of those people (and worse - people from School!) looking me up truly horrifies me! And what would they find? No successful hotshot designer that's for sure, just a mother of twins - with two dogs and some goldfish - who pooper-scoopers up an inordinately large amount of dog poo frequently throughout the day, taxis kids back and forth, picks up after them eternally and works in an equally frustrating non-creative job and listens to dear-heart's rantings about his work to cap off each titillating day. So - er - definitely I'll steer clear of Facebook and MySpace is looking just as objectionable. No disrespect to the 100,000s of people who are using these modern day soap boxes but I guess I'm just an old fashioned girl. Hmmmm the thought of adding Carl as a friend though, so-o-o-o-o-o deliciously tempting.

As you may have read elsewhere on this site, I have found out that Harry Connick is also coming here this year, I just got an email of his presale from Ticketmaster.

Why I was mentioning Vanessa also and Kate, is that it is so good that he has got all of them out and about performing and now we are just dying for Carl to do the same all over this big land.

Yeah it's great Carlfanatic. Love listening to Lido -now I can understand the words!- and Girl from Ipanema which I don't think I've ever heard all the way through before! Did it go up late yesterday or something how come it's us Perthites who sat up late listening to them? :)

I was on there last night too Angeo!!!! But the link to Lets Fall in Love wasnt working properly and it played Ipanema....not that I minded!!! Love all the songs sooooo much!! Makes me want that album even more if thats possible!!!!

But tonight I went back on there and they've fixed up the link....go and have a listen to Lets Fall in Love.... oh wow... the opening few lines have him singing in the most extreme honeytones that I've ever heard from him!!! Then it breaks out into a great jazzy song!! Going back for another listen!!!!

A note from Carl......

Hi Guys,

Just a quick update to let you know whats been happening in the world of Carl Riseley!

I have been flat out on the promo trail this week including a performance at Miss World- that was a lot of fun, I also got to hang out with Merrick & Rosso on thursday (those guys crack me up) and apperance on the Today Show this morning, I hope you caught me on that.

I'm looking forward to my upcoming gigs including Fountain Gate Westfield next Wednesday, but what I am most excitied about is my big shows at Bennett's Lane in Melbourne and The Basement in Sydney, these shows are going to be big guys! So make sure you book your tickets come down to these legendary venues!! I can't wait! Check out all the details of my up coming gigs on my myspace page.

Missed the Miss World one!! Was that on tv? And we dont get Merrick and Rosso over here in SA I dont think.... Still, managed to catch the Today show appearance so thats something - check it out in the videos forum) By the way, has anyone had a mailing list posted to them for a while? I think I've had one since I registered for it... Just wondered if I was missing them for some reason!!

Hmm... Not only is Honeyman avoiding me, but now he's rubbing salt into my wounds! Yes I got that chirpy little message on my myspace . . .

Hmmf!! Ah well. I'm rejected, dejected but I'm never giving up. One day Carl Riseley, you and I will be in the same city and I will get to see you perform live.

I dont know much about the venues, but it seems as tho Bennetts Lane and The Basement have some sort of history as far as venues go cos he calls them 'legendary'...maybe they're places he's always wished he could perform at so they hold a special bit of significance for him? Anyway monetgo, dont worry... I'm sure he's looking forward to playing at all his gigs no matter where they are and lets face it, I'd sit in the middle of a garbage dump to watch Carl if I had to!!! ;)

Actually nobody could be happier than me that Carl's playing at the Basement. Bennett's Lane I don't know about but I've had a long-standing affection for the Basement since the first time I ever went to Sydney. And since seeing Carl on Australian Idol I automatically thought it would be a great venue for him. So really I'm not spiteful and bitter, I was thrilled to find out he will be performing there! So what if it's a week too late for me? I'm really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really happy (sincerely) just knowing he'll be performing there whilst I'm 3,000 km away back in Perth! Really! And to get that little message that he's looking forward to performing there, shows how significant it is to him too. And that just gladdens my heart no end. No contentious feelings here! None whatsover! I'm happy as a pig in poo. That I am. Yes indeedy.

Well that would be nice to speculate Ambercat but who knows? I certainly received no acknowledgment from RCM apart from them requesting more details. As Carl says in his message, it is legendary so perhaps they already mooted it as a venue.

I hope we get some good reviews of it on this forum. Better still I hope the ABC televise it.
