I added this one to my myspace page today:
“[Luke:] I don't believe it. [Yoda:] That is why you fail.”
I love Yoda

If at first you don't succeed - give up and watch The Simpsons. ~ Sensor
Sorry, I've been in a heady mood all day. I'm on an extended break and I'm so enjoying it!!

Re: The Quote Thread
Ah monet, ya does lurve Mangione!!
I haven't seen that new ep yet... (hangs head in shame).
Is it on TV or only on Foxtel??
I'll have to do some serious tele-gazing again - I miss that normal/dysfunctional family. But what I really love about The Simpsons is, it always manages to turn out right in the end...awwww.

"You're kidding, aren't you? We were defensive with an 8-1 field? You obviously don't understand the game" ~ Simon Katich, 9/11/2008

Re: The Quote Thread
'...when correcting grammar I don't discriminate - I'll just as happily do it to "friends". '
If this weren't so pathetic, I'd out the dude who said it.
Hint: it was actually an adult, although you'd never guess.
" ...when love speaks,
the voice of all the gods
make heaven
drowsy with the harmony." ~ William Shakespeare

I recognise that superior tone

the voice of all the gods
make heaven
drowsy with the harmony." ~ William Shakespeare
Very nice

" I said that I would see you because ~ I heard you were a serious man ~ to be treated with respect." ~ Don Vito Corleone
" I have a sentimental weakness for my children and I've spoiled them as you can see. They talk when they should listen. But - anyway - Signor Sollozo, my No is final. And I wish to congratulate you on your new business; I know you'll do very well, and - good luck... Especially since your interests don't conflict with mine." ~ Don Vito Corleone
"Never tell anybody outside the Family what you're thinking again." ~ Don Vito Corleone

Re: The Quote Thread
I thought I would drag this thread back from the brink of oblivion in honour of 'The Stillest Hour' ...
That's what I love about the title, everyone has a different idea about when 'the hour' is. ~ Carl Riseley
That quote from Carl is the news section reminded me of a quote I love - I guess 3am has my vote for 'the hour'
In a real dark night of the soul, it is always three o'clock in the morning, day after day. ~F. Scott Fitzgerald
And, althought not a quote, the lyrics from 3am by Matchbox Twenty:
She says baby
It's 3 am I must be lonely
When she says baby
Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes
Says the rain's gonna wash away I believe it
She's got a little bit of something, God it's better than nothing
And in her color portrait world she believes that she's got it all
She swears the moon don't hang quite as high as it used to
And she only sleeps when it's raining
And she screams and her voice is straining
She says baby
It's 3 am I must be lonely
When she says baby
Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes
Says the rain's gonna wash away I believe it
She believes that life is made up of all that you're used to
And the clock on the wall has been stuck at three for days, and days
She thinks that happiness is a mat that sits on her doorway
But outside it's stopped raining
