Re: chit chat thread
so i have spent most of this weekend spam emailing random sydney and wollongong venues to see if they have any plans of hiring Carl to do any gigs in 2010 and so far out of the 30 odd emails sent i have only heard back from fairfield RSL, who said they have no current plans to have him perform but that can change from month to month so keep an out out on there website for future details so maybe if someone has shown interest in having him return they may re-look into it.
i would really like for others to get behind me and email these venues also as the more people they have enquire the more chance we have of getting him to perform. also if anyone needs me to back them up in other states just let me know and i will email those venues also with my interest.
i already emailed the ellington, bennetts lane, the gov etc ( the venues he has already performed at) amoungst my random spaming. hehe hope it helps especially you guys in Perth.
while i'm here just a reminder Carl is supporting kate ceberano at the melbourne zoo twillight gig link can be found in the carl gigs section under vic gigs, also he will be performing in adelaide with vanessa amorosi on australia day, again link can be found in the carl gigs section under SA gigs.
hope everyone is well. take care AR

Re: chit chat thread
Great work Amanda. I'll do what I can. I have more time now, so I'll get stuck into it. It's been 2 years now and still no local gigs for us. We will just have to help you pester every venue we can! I'm absolutely HANGING for a gig. It's been too long and it's just what I need. If you have the email addys for the places you inquired at, pm them to me and I'll send the emails off. I guess the more we send, the greater chance we may have of getting Carl there.
Hopefully you hear back!
Hopefully you hear back!
Re: chit chat thread
I hope you guys can manage to get a gig in Wollongong. Just imagine after the concert you could just casually invite Carl and his band back to your place for a late supper! Just make sure you let them leave though! I understand it would be tempting to keep them all imprisoned and enslaved for your constant personal gratification but just remember there are other fans waiting for him to come and play a gig near us!
Anyhow thanks for emailing the Ellington Amanda. Just let me know the contacts for the venues in the Gong and I'll certainly add my emails to the bombardment.

Re: chit chat thread
Hello girls! I haven't posted here for a while, so I thought it was about time I came and said hi! I hope everyone is well and still enjoying our dear Carl - I know I am! I am waiting impatiently for another album though. Does anyone have any news about a new one that he might be working on? I see Amanda has tracked him down and discovered he is in New Zealand. I hope he's enjoying his time over there with his mum! Bye everyone and I will make an effort to come in here more often!

Re: chit chat thread
Hey!!!
Good news is - he is definitely working on the new album!!
I had a bit of a chit chat to him about it last time I saw him - and he's been playing a couple of originals which could end up on the album as some of the recent shows.
I just want it to hurry up and be released hahaha!
Amanda's tracking skills are amazing lol!!!

Re: chit chat thread
Darn I missed Carl's Last Post yesterday what a great idea and thanks for the effort Ambs and mum. I saw your tweet too Amanda, nice touch. I really meant to play it for the kids yesterday but the time got away with me, just too good gardening weather to let it pass. I haven't been on here for a few days, my internet browsing has been chockers just with holiday plans. Yes another one! This is the BIG holiday! I booked it yesterday. Round the world for Christmas this year - Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, Edinburgh, New York, Orlando, LA, Sydney.....so big sigh of relief we've finally put together the bare bones itinerary. Still need to think about accommodation and internal flights/train trips around Europe and the US. Just been doing an on-line application for accommodation in Paris that's available to staff where I work. It's a converted pre-revolution convent near Mont Marte with self-contained apartments (no they aren't convent cells!) Fingers crossed that we can get it for a week. So much more romantic than a hotel. So that's me for the moment - my head is just full of what to see, what to do.... well can't complain when that's all I have to worry about can I? If you are thinking about a trip look at bestflights.com.au. Lot's of good fares at the moment.

I'm so excited to be spending Christmas in Scotland, my birthplace - it'll be so good showing places I remember to my kids. and Yay! we got the studio in Paris! Still a lot of planning to do though. At least that will keep me occupied while we wait for the months to go in.

Re: chit chat thread
Currently not seeing my man or hearing from him, he is avoiding me, because I have told him what he desperately needs to know about relationships and if he doesn't realise what a great friend I have been in doing so and I still would like to be if given the opportunity to do so(Well then I give up) The things I spelled out to him he should actually know himself- esp if he wants to find and keep a nice kind of woman (whether it be me or someone else). He will not find an enduring and lasting relationship the way he is going right now.
I have been giving him what he needs, not what he wants and it appears to be not good enough. Oh well whatever will be will be, but I certainly do not regret telling him exactly what he needs to know, it had to be done.

Yes some people who have known him for a long time, I confided in them about things and they were shocked to hear, because they thought I was good for him.

Re: chit chat thread
Hi y'all
Sorry I've not been on in a while. Well I sort of have been - as I'm sporadically working on something for the forum. I've had a busy time of late with kids and self down with headcolds and of course still lots of planning to do for my big hols, plus a little 'time-out' trip I plan to take with a mate sometime (hence, Carl needs to put more gig dates up!!!) - But I have been following the 'events' and loved the review of the RFDS gig Amanda and Jodie
You know me I can't leave anyone's post uncommented on so I'll be back to weed them out and put in my 5c worth soon.

Re: chit chat thread
Hey Guys,
Forgive my absence again.
My beautiful, gentle old dog Tess died on Sunday.
She was 17.
Yeah I still think I can hear her paws pitter patter on the wood floor, searching for someone to give her a pat.
As I leave for work in the morning, I expect to see the battle in her eyes as I send her outside for the day.
When I drive in from work I expect to see her emerge out of her kennel to greet us.
I still expect to see her standing at the door at dinner time waiting for her favourite food.
I want to take her out for her evening walk, watch her skip over the road to the park and sniff all her favourite doggy facebooks along the walkway.
I still have that flash of concern in the evenings that I need to bring her in out of the cold and settled on her bed for the night.
Before I go to bed I want to check on her, curled on her bed and stroke her ears to hear her pleasured little grunts.
But she's not there.
It's just over a year since her companion, Dougall died and we haven't got over missing him.
So we are a very sad family right now, the four of us, minus our dogs that have been such a big part of our lives.

Oh yes I thought they were great, the Murby's, I was always spellbound by their performances on AGT.
So sorry about your pets Angeo. My brother and his wife lost three pets within the space of a year and a half, now there are none in their household right now.

Thanks Yvonne and Amanda for your kind words. I am still really missing my dogs. We will need to get another puppy for our home but it will have to wait until next year after our 2 month trip. Now with no dogs in our household it feels very empty, as your brother must be feeling also Yvonne.
Jodie - alcohol would cause 90% of a bad situation and 10% is down to the truth of the matter which can be resolved by forgiveness, apology or the healing of time. In other words alcohol can make things ten times worse than they really are. So this guy fancied you all along and fueled by alcohol, declared his love for you in front of all your family and friends and revealed his relationship had been a sham that he only got into to make you jealous but it had backfired and now we have a tragic love triangle and you are left with a bitter nasty taste in your mouth (that birthday cake icing can be saccharin sweet). Well he'll have to decide, friendship with you or heartache without you. Unless he can win you over?
Okay, that was crap. You just wanted to vent. I'll hold back on the advice column in future.

Re: chit chat thread
hahahahaha you're right though.
The balls in his court now, I've attempted to sort out whats wrong, and to find out if I had unknowingly upset him - so now I've gotta wait for him to come round.
It's not the first time he's done something sort of along these lines - and that led to us not having any contact for nearly a year - and I don't want that again.
But whatever will be, will be I guess.

I have left the ball in my friends court too, things have been a bit awkward with us too of recent times. He says he cares for me, but I just don't really feel like he does.
